Welcome to the official hub for the Hurunui College 100th Centenary Celebration! Since opening our doors in 1927, Hawarden District High School, Hawarden Area School, and Hurunui College have been at the heart of the Hawarden, Waikari, and wider North Canterbury communities. For ten decades, generations of students, teachers, staff, and families have passed through our gates, shaping not only our school’s rich history but also the countryside around us.

Whether you were a pupil in the 1950s, a teacher in the 1990s, or a recent graduate, this milestone is a celebration of you. Join us on Labour Weekend 2027 to catch up with old friends, visit the classrooms, share fond memories, and toast to 100 years of education.
