Enrolment Applications for 2026 / 2027
Pre-enrolment and Out of Zone Balloting Procedures
In-Zone Enrolments
Students residing within our home zone have an automatic right of entry. However, to assist the college with staffing and resource planning, we ask that in-zone families submit their enrolments as early as possible.
Out-of-Zone Enrolment Application & Balloting Procedures
Enrolment at Hurunui College is governed by a Ministry of Education Enrolment Scheme. The Hurunui College Board invites out-of-zone (OOZ) applications for prospective students, subject to available space and cohort capacity.
Details of our home zone are available on our website or from the school office.
Available Out-of-Zone Places
The Board of Hurunui College has determined that up to 40 out-of-zone places are available across Years 1–13.
To maintain high-quality learning environments and protect space for local families, no individual year level will exceed a total cohort size of 30 students (inclusive of both in-zone and out-of-zone enrolments). The actual number of OOZ places offered at any specific year level during a ballot depends on current in-zone numbers and physical class capacity.
